Terms of Service

What you're agreeing to.

Last updated: June 3, 2026

1. The service

Culpari lets you publish a public apology as a star on a shared digital sky. There is no private mode. Do not submit anything you would not want other people to read.

When you submit an apology for free, it is:

  • Stored in our database
  • Immediately visible on the public sky
  • Accessible at a unique public URL, such as culpari.com/star/[your-token]
  • Shown on the public sky for up to 30 days, fading as it gets older

After the free 30-day window, the star may leave the visible sky. Its direct star page may remain accessible unless we remove or restrict it under these terms.

You may choose to pay for permanence. A permanent star stays visible on the sky indefinitely and does not fade.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Culpari. By submitting, you confirm you meet this requirement. If you are under 16, do not use the service.

3. Content rules

You agree not to submit content that:

  • Contains slurs, hate speech, or content targeting people based on protected characteristics
  • Is threatening, harassing, or designed to intimidate
  • Contains personal information of third parties without their consent, such as addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, financial information, or government IDs
  • Is defamatory, meaning it states false facts that could damage someone's reputation
  • Sexualizes minors in any way
  • Is spam, promotional material, or deliberately fictional for entertainment
  • Uses the recipient email feature to harass, pressure, or repeatedly contact someone

Our moderation system screens submissions automatically. We may also review published content manually. Violations may result in hiding, removing, or restricting content without refund.

4. Free posting and paid permanence

Posting a standard apology star is free. Paying is optional and is used to make a star permanent. The current permanence price is displayed before checkout.

Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, who acts as the merchant of record for paid transactions. This means LemonSqueezy is responsible for:

  • Collecting payment and issuing receipts
  • Calculating and remitting applicable sales taxes and VAT
  • Handling payment disputes with your card issuer

Your payment is governed by LemonSqueezy's terms of service at lemonsqueezy.com/terms, in addition to these terms.

5. Refunds

Paid permanence starts immediately after payment confirmation. Because the service is delivered immediately, permanence purchases are final and we do not offer refunds except where required by law.

If you have a technical issue, such as being charged but your star not becoming permanent, contact us within 7 days and we will investigate.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of the words you write. By submitting, you grant Culpari a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to store, display, and distribute your apology text and associated public names as part of the Culpari service, including on the public sky, individual star pages, share previews, emails you ask us to send, and future features of the platform.

You confirm the content is your own genuine words and that you have the right to publish it.

7. Content removal

We reserve the right to hide, remove, restrict, or disable access to any apology that violates Section 3 or creates safety, privacy, legal, or abuse concerns.

Free stars fade from the visible sky automatically after the free window. Permanent stars are intended to stay visible indefinitely, but they may still be removed or restricted if they violate these terms.

We do not guarantee removal simply because the submitter changes their mind. If we do remove or restrict a paid permanent star for a terms violation, we may do so without a refund.

Third-party removal requests, including personal-information or harassment concerns, should be sent to hello@culpari.com. We will review them as soon as reasonably possible.

8. Service availability

We aim to keep Culpari running indefinitely. However, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

In the unlikely event that we shut down the service, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users and provide a data export mechanism for permanent published content.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Culpari and its operators are not liable for:

  • Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service
  • How recipients, third parties, or the public respond to content published on the platform
  • Emotional distress caused by seeing content on the sky or receiving a star link
  • Loss of data due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control

Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the submission or permanence purchase in question.

10. Prohibited uses

You agree not to:

  • Use automated tools to submit apologies in bulk
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the platform's APIs
  • Use the service to harass, stalk, shame, or target a specific person
  • Submit content that is deliberately false or designed to deceive
  • Attempt to circumvent our content moderation or rate limits
  • Use recipient emails without permission or for repeated unwanted contact

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not accept a change, stop using the service.
