Why we charge once instead of monthly

Three prices, paid once, no auto-renewal. And the one recurring idea we would consider, which is deliberately not in the checkout.

Celebrari has three prices. Moment is $12, Celebration is $29, Keepsake is $59. Each is paid once by the person who creates the sky. Guests never pay anything. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal.

A moment is not a service

Subscriptions are honest when the thing keeps working for you: storage you are still filling, software you are still using, a seat you are still occupying. A birthday is not a seat. The event ends, and what is left is a collection that either keeps its promise or does not.

Charging monthly for that would mean inventing a reason to be paid every month. We would end up designing features that justify the bill instead of features that make the memory better. That is a well-known way to ruin a product.

Why the creator pays and the guests do not

The person who wants the thing pays for it. One person decides to make a sky, and two hundred people are then asked for nothing but a minute of their time.

Put a price on the guest side and the gift stops working. Nobody wants to be charged to write a message for a colleague who is leaving, and the person who organised it would never ask them to. Keeping the guest side free is what makes the link safe to send to anyone.

The worst email we could ever send

Recurring billing on a memory has one inevitable message attached to it: your subscription is expiring, and the alternative is losing the voice notes from your father.

We do not want to send that. Nobody wants to receive it. A product holding something irreplaceable should never be in the position of threatening to drop it over a monthly fee.

What the price buys, concretely

Moment is up to 50 contributions with a 7-day media window. Celebration is up to 250 with the live sky and a 30-day window. Keepsake is up to 500 with the live sky, a private recap you can export, and a one-year window.

Those numbers are the whole offer. There is nothing to unlock later, no contact-sales tier, no enterprise quote, and no upsell waiting on the other side of checkout.

The honest counter-argument

Storage is not free. One payment has to cover a year of keeping someone's photos, and that is the actual reason Keepsake costs $59 and Moment costs $12. The price is the cost of the promise plus a margin, not a guess at what someone will tolerate. We would rather explain a number than defend a trick.

The one exception, and why it is small

A Keepsake buyer might one day be offered a $12-per-year extension to keep their media beyond the first year. That is the only recurring idea we are willing to entertain, and it is deliberately absent from the checkout.

It will exist only if real usage shows people genuinely want to keep revisiting a sky, not because we want a subscription line. If we ever sell it, it will be because someone asked with their behaviour rather than because we needed the revenue.

See the packages if you want the numbers in one place, or read why the media window is printed in the price.
